About me

I am a mother to two wonderful children and married to an Ironman that has helped me grow and develop into the person I am today. I am an all around crafter, novice runner, and an oddball. I love to read and write, sew, knit/crochet, sing and dance with my children and am currently training for my first mini marathon.

I have been a labor and delivery nurse since 2008 and am quite passionate at what I do. I work with very high risk OB patients, and LOVE what I do. It’s my professional goal in life to help bring babies into the world naturally in a very medical environment. I’m in the middle of preparing to go back to school to further my nursing degree and eventually plan to work towards becoming a nurse practitioner.

My free time is spent up keeping my century plus old home, entertaining my children, cooking, cleaning, running, crafting and blogging.  I currently have two blogs (I am such a dork), one of which is all professional and pregnancy related (therealityofpregnancy.wordpress.com).

Hopes and dreams include another month long excursion to Ireland, to be an NP, learn to ride a bike, do a sprint triathlon, to beat my first half marathon time by ten minutes or so, run a full marathon someday, and to help my children grow into the best possible person they can be.

  1. Thanks for the visit. Frank’s Place is always open. We have just moved from labor and delivery over to the NICU. My wife was on bed-rest, only made it to 25 weeks. The labor and delivery nurses were awesome, as are the NICU nurses.

  2. Wow, I’m so glad I found your blog through your Like on my Run for a Reason blog post. Can’t wait to stay up to date on your training for your mini marathon! Respect!

  3. Thanks ofr your blog, it has really been inspiring to me. I usually just lurk around and read whatever stands out to me, and I always leave your blog inspired and ready to do more! Because of this, the opportunity fell in my lap to nominate blogs that inspire me for a Blogger’s Award, and I did just that! Thank you for sharing your story with us!
